Frontier Research Center
Brief Introduction

The Marine Microbiology Group is interested in synthetic ecology, systems microbiology, and microbiomics of marine ecosystems with cutting-edge technologies and bioinformatic tools. The group members study the biogeochemical cycling of carbon, nitrogen, sulfur, phosphorus and metals in the marine, land and atmosphere, reveal their key functional processes and coupling mechanisms, develop nature-based microbiome technologies, and realize the application of microbiome engineering in the river-wetland-ocean continuum ecosystems. Such efforts will greatly promote international frontier research, national strategies, and local economy.
